Jean's life was marked by love and dedication to her family. She met her husband, Delbert “Chuck” Wegener, at the Imperial Roller Skating Rink in Portland, and they married in 1950. As her children grew older, she embarked on a career in various retail stores, primarily working in the fabric department.
Beyond her role as a mother, Jean had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was an exceptional seamstress, sewing all of her children's clothing as they were growing up, from everyday outfits to wedding dresses. She continued this tradition by sewing clothing for her grandchildren. Jean also had a passion for collecting dolls and nurturing her flower garden. Her dedication to family traditions was remarkable, and she made sure they were upheld with love and care. Jean made sure to gather her loved ones for holidays and, most importantly, birthdays at her house. Her warm and welcoming nature created countless cherished memories for her family.
Jean is survived by her children, Donna Donaldson, Lois Almeda, and David Wegener, as well as her grandchildren, Christa (Jay), Beth (Dan), Darren (Katie), and Kevin (Lindsey), and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delbert Wegener, and her son, Bruce Wegener.
