1938-2024
Janette Elaine Becraft was born in Kermit, TX, on November 21, 1938, and passed away in Portland, OR, on February 8, 2024.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1957. That same year, she started working as a telephone operator, and over her successful career, she was promoted to administrative manager. After 33 years, she retired from US West Communications in 1990.
For several decades she also worked as a Mary Kay consultant, making many friendships there. In her retirement, she enjoyed working in the travel industry for Tre Laghi, where she was the United States contact and booking agent. One of the perks of the job was traveling to Italy, and she had very fond memories of those trips.
She took pleasure in owning and driving her 1968 Mustang. Spending time with the ladies from the Red Hat Society was a joy for her. She also loved to travel and play games; Scrabble was one of her favorites. She and her husband Dwight also enjoyed 8-years of "snowbirding" at their winter home in Phoenix, AZ.
She married the love of her life, Dwight Bert Becraft, on August 10, 1958. Together, they had two children, Tod and Kimberley, and one grandson, Anthony.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dwight and son Tod. She is survived by her daughter and grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They are felt with the heart. She was the best.
