A proud graduate of Portland State University, George pursued a lifelong career as a heavy equipment parts salesman. George was a hardworking man. His expertise and dedication culminated in his role at Pape Machinery’s parts department, where he was affectionately known as the "answer man" for his unmatched knowledge in the field. Colleagues and customers alike admired his professionalism and unwavering commitment to excellence.
While working at Pacific Detroit Diesel Company, George met Susan, the love of his life. The two were married on June 26, 1993, embarking on a devoted journey together that lasted over 30 years. Their shared life was one of faith, love, and service to others.
A man deeply rooted in his beliefs, George was an active member of East River Fellowship Church and Evergreen Christian Center. His generosity shone through his volunteer work at food pantries across Washington County, where he spent countless hours organizing donations.
George found solace and joy in nature through hunting and fishing—pastimes that reflected his profound appreciation for the outdoors. Known for his easygoing nature and compassionate heart, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Ohler; and his brothers, James Ohler, Harold Ohler, and Herbert Ohler.
George’s memory will forever remain a source of inspiration to all who knew him. May his legacy of faith, kindness, and loyalty resonate in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
