Gary Lee Stout passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2023 after a three-year battle with cancer. His wife Kathleen was by his side and he was surrounded by the love and prayers of family and friends. Gary will be missed greatly by family and friends, as he was a kind and gentle soul who loved life.
Gary was born March 8, 1954 and raised in Albany, Oregon. His parents, June and Larry Stout, preceded him in death. Gary loved growing up in the Albany area with his older sister Kathy Stout. The family shared the love of sports and had many competitive golf matches over the years. After high school Gary attended Willamette University where he earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, sister Kathy Stout and her wife Judy Moyer, along with many nieces and nephews and their spouses. Gary and his wife, Kathleen, shared 43 wonderful years together after meeting in graduate school. Gary was raised in a small close family but embraced and loved the big Irish family he gained when he married Kathleen. Gary and Kathleen enjoyed travel with friends and family, and had their own golf matches and fishing adventures with their beloved Goldens. We won’t comment on who won more matches or caught more fish.
Gary embodied the entrepreneurial spirit and ended his career in Nevada where his company built a soil amendment research and gold ore processing plant. Despite Gary’s health challenges, he spent these last few years always hopeful, positive and with a smile for everyone. Gary will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends.
