Frank Willie Wells Jr. was born in Rison, Arkansas to Annie Lee Jones-Jordan and Willie F. Wells. He graduated from Central High School in Flint, Michigan. Shortly after he entered into the United States Marine Corps on August 3, 1973. He was honorably discharged on December 12, 1975. Frank had a son, Michael Wells, who preceded him in death.
Frank had a beautiful spirit and loved everyone he came into contact with, including his siblings. He loved life and many, many people along his journey and cared for everyone. He had a laugh that was contagious. Frank loved jewelry and the Pacific ocean.
While in the Marines Frank traveled to difference countries like Germany, Cuba, Okinawa, Japan and many more. He was the instructor for the marines, teaching drug and alcohol classes to other soldiers to get their life together. He had great compassion for others.
Mrs. Betty Garrett was one of Frank's friends in Long Beach, California. She took to being Frank's mother, sister, and supporter whenever Frank needed it.
Precious memories that preceded Frank in death: son, Michael Wells; mother, Annie Lee Jones-Jordan; father, Willie Wells; grandparents, Nora Ann Taylor, Roy Jones, Eddie Miller; and cousin, Seagram Miller.
He leaves to cherish and mourn: siblings, Sr. Pastor Rose E. Franks, Pastor Flora E. Rush, Nora Lee Wells, Larry J. Wells, Anna Marie Wells, Colena D. Wells, and Kyle V. Wells, all of Portland, Oregon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thanks to the VA Hospital in Long Beach, California for the love and support taking care of our brother, Frank Wells, at his last moment of life. We loved our brother, Frank, no mater what happened in his life. We will always cherish him.
