Frank W. Kerr, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on March 2,2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born on Oct. 24, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Harry and Ina Kerr. He served honorably in the U.S.Navy aboard the U.S.S. Whitehurst during WW II and saw action in the Pacific. He married Katherine Walls on March 27, 1948. Graduating from Weidner University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, his job with ITE Imperial Circuit Breaker took him to Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and then to Portland, Oregon where he retired from ABB-Brown-Baveri Inc.
Frank, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was forever a Gentleman, and will always be remembered for his zest for life, passion for travel, positive attitude and most of all the Love and Pride he had for his family!! Indeed he was our HERO and will live on in our hearts forever!!
Frank was preceded in death by his sweet daughter, Diane. Left to cherish his memory is his beautiful,loving wife of 64 years, Katherine; daughters, Bonnie (Joel)Solomon,Ohio; Debbie Aberle, Tigard, OR.; Karen(Dennis)Kern, Sherwood, OR.; eight precious granddaughters; Diane Solomon, Dayna Solomon, Jami (Brad) Dickerson, Nicole Lugo, Kendra (Jeff) Thibodeau, Megan Solomon, Kristin Kern, & Danielle Kern, and one handsome grandson, Zack Sullivan; two wonderful great-grandsons, Evan Lugo and Ryan Dickerson. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Wed. March 7,2012 at 2pm at the Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the charity of their choice.
