She was born April 8, 1929 in Lake Norden, South Dakota. She lived with her parents and three siblings until moving to Gresham, OR during her sophomore year of H.S.
Audrey graduated from Gresham High School in 1947 and was employed for a number of years in the Portland area. She retired with the J.J. Newberry Company after working for many years at both the Lloyd Center and East Port Plaza stores.
Audrey attended the Parkrose, Milwaukie, Rose City and Sunnyside Church of the Nazarene during her years in Portland. She attended the Amazing Grace Church of the Nazarene in Walla Walla.
Audrey loved to garden, sew and crochet. However, the two greatest loves of her life were her family and her Church.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Staples in February 2012; her parents, Gilbert and Hilda Olivia (Arvidson) Jones, daughters, Marlene Waltner and Dorothy Staples; and her brother, Donald Jones.
She is survived by two sons, Marlen and Darcy Staples, two daughters, Cheryl Hopkins and Chalene Waltner and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Lavonne Kjenslee and Delores Dickinson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, July 8th at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Ross within the grounds of Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
