Diana Lee (Kimball) Hester was born on December 18, 1947 in Eugene, Or. to Gale and Doris Kimball. She was raised with her two sisters in Medford, Or. where she attended (North) Medford High School, graduating in 1966. She went on to attend Southern Oregon College and beauty school. Among other things her favorite and most important job was being a caregiver and homemaker. She loved caring for others and was blessed to gain fruitful employment doing the things she loved. She retired in 2000 from the Graphic Arts Center of Portland where she worked as a hospitality manager.
In 1995, Diana exchanged wedding vows with Gary Hester in the Grace Community Church of Gresham, Or. Between them the couple had four children, Brian, Holly, Glen, and Sharon.
In retirement, Diana was able to pursue more of her life's joys. She found great pleasure in cooking, quilting, and in latter years, acrylic landscape painting. She also enjoyed traveling and snow-birding to Arizona later in life. Of all the things that Diana loved in life, she especially loved her family. She cherished her grandchildren, and found no greater joy than being known as "Granni" to them.
Diana was a woman of great faith. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Gresham, Or and of Calvary Chapel in Casa Grande, AZ. She was very actively involved in church activities and events. She helped lead the church's Care Team for a period of time, where she would provide food and basic necessities to families in need.
Diana went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Fairview, Or. She was surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 6:30pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the Grace Community Church of Gresham. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park for family. Diana is survived by her adoring husband, Gary; their children, Brian(Sarah) Gresham, Holly(Walt) Lyons, Glen(Elaine) Hester, and Sharon(Mario) Rodriguez; mother, Doris Kimball; sisters, Susan Moroch and Eileen Kimball; seven grandchildren, and one niece. She was a humble servant of God, and found her life's fulfillment in showing Christ's love to others. Her memory will forever be celebrated.
