Cheyenne was born in Portland at Christmastime. She grew up for her first seven years up on Mt Hood, where her dad and mom worked. She moved to Central Oregon with her sister, Dulcinea to Fall River when her mom was ill, and from there she lived in Prineville until age 12. A move followed Mom’s work in Colorado until she was 18 and then she came back to Portland. She had her son in 2014 and moved to La Pine, OR for a few years before returning to Portland. She called both Portland and Central Oregon her home. She was planning to move back to La Pine in the near future.
Her personal story was complicated. Cheyenne was a woman who wanted to be loved more than anything! When she had her son, Rhys, she was certain that she would never be alone and that her dream of loving and being loved had come true. As hard as she tried, she could not overcome her personal challenges. They were part of her entire adult life. Recently, Cheyenne had a handle on her personal life. She had a job she loved, and she was happier than she had been in years.
Thanksgiving weekend she worked on Black Friday and on Saturday, she went home late in the day because she was not feeling well. She passed sometime during the weekend, but she was not found until December 2nd, three days before her 39th birthday. Her life was over just as she was living a good life again.
If you knew her, you saw that Cheyenne was a creative artist, a poet and she had an amazing eye for fashion. She loved clothes, shoes and accessories and from the time she was a teen, she created her “look”. Whenever she could be in a place where she could create, she was happy.
Her ability to sell retail products was second to none and she loved serving the public when she worked! She had several long-term sales positions and her newest was her favorite.
She never married but she did have a long-time relationship with Jon Jurow, of New York, and as she moved forward in her life, they maintained contact and friendship through everything she experienced. The family thanks him for his friendship to her.
Rhys was born after a two plus year relationship with his father, who moved her to a new job in Washington, where Rhys was born. We brought the two of them home to La Pine when Rhys was ready to travel! She loved being back in Central Oregon.
The family always had a great deal of hope for Cheyenne to find her way. She did so right before her life ended and she will be remembered for her fight to get her life back so she could share it with her son.
She will be missed by the people who knew her and her family will always have her in our hearts.
