A Celebration of Life service for Cheryl will be held at 2 pm on August 17th at Resurrection Lutheran Church (1700 NE 132nd Ave, Portland OR 97230). Everyone who knew and loved Cheryl is invited to attend.

Cheryl lived a life of joy and intention, with her love of family and friends at the center of everything she did.

She served as Preschool Director and Teacher at Resurrection Lutheran Church for 29 years and volunteered with Abertina Kerr's "Art from the Heart" program in her retirement.

Cheryl enjoyed reading, music, and the movies. The Hundred Foot Journey, The Terminal, Shakespeare in Love, Chocolat, and the Thomas Crown Affair rank among her favorites.

She loved home gardening, art and crafting projects, and trips to the beach. She always looked forward to her coffee dates with Roger.

Cheryl caught the "acting bug" in the spring of 1972 when Roger was in Officer's Candidate School at Fort Benning. Recruited with other military wives to film a short parody characterizing a day in the life of an Officer Candidate, she embraced her role and immediately knew she wanted to act.

Cheryl first performed on stage with the Resurrection Players in the 1980's. She graduated from Portland Actors Conservatory in 2006.

Cheryl has appeared on many stages in and around Portland. Favorite roles include M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias with the New Century Players and Mrs. Savage in Sandy Actors Theatre's productions of The Curious Savage.

Cheryl believed in the importance and potential of all people. She shared this value and her love of art as a volunteer at Albertina Kerr's Art from the Heart program, helping those with differing abilities to find purpose and joy through artistic creation.

Thank you for being a part of Cheryl's life, for sharing your love with her, and helping create the memories we will always treasure.
