A memorial service will be held Monday May 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Beaverton Christian Church, 13600 SW Allen Blvd., Beaverton for Charles W. Miller who passed away April 21, 2014 in Beaverton, OR. Charles was born September 9, 1923 in Eureka, KS to parents Cecil Alberta (Swan) and Wallace Orville Miller. He graduated from high school and entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He was honorably discharged in 1946, but came away a changed man. You see during his service time he met and married Opal Mae Cox on September 23, 1945. Opal preceded him in death. Charles worked for three different service stations before settling at Portland Glove as a salesman. He worked at that job until retirement. He enjoyed his affiliation with Beaverton Christian Church which began in 1957 and lasted until his death. He held the office of Elder there for 50 years, and took care of much of the grounds maintenance for much of that time. The things he considered achievements were joyfully reaching 90 years of age, and reaching out to others for Jesus Christ.
Charles will be missed by a sister Erma Carmichael, his children Cheryl, Larry and Bob; his children-in-law Gloria and Victor; grandchildren Janice, David, Jonathan, Helen and Victor; great grandchildren Anna and Lilly, and many many friends.
Arrangements under the direction of Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Portland, OR.
