Catherine graduated from Boise High School in 1930, attended one year at the College of Idaho, then transferred to the Deaconess Hospital where she was trained for three years to become a Registered Nurse, receiving her degree in 1935. She moved to Portland and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years.
Catherine was known for her love of gardening and growing beautiful roses. She seized every opportunity to spend time working in her yard. She belonged to the Garden Club and was an avid bridge player. She played bridge for many years with her friends from King City.
She was married to Rolla Wahle who preceded her in death. Later she married Dr. John C. Nevin who also preceded her in death. John and Catherine spent time working in the mission field in Thailand and ministering in their church, Multnomah Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for many years.
Catherine is survived by a sister-in-law, Joan Prickett, Boise, Idaho; and two step-daughters, Margie Taaffe in Centreville, Maryland and Laura Sparks in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Marion Prickett, and sister Carribelle Everett. Viewing available from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday June 8th at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 9th, 12:00pm at the Multnomah Presbyterian Church. Donations may be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
