Alta was born in Portland, OR on July 30th, 1913 to Joseph Hood and Julia Fisher. She was raised on Parrett Mountain with her sister Freda and brother Marvin. In 1935 she married Herbert “Burt” Lehman at her parents home in Damascus. Together they had two children, Marilyn and Kenneth. Alta and Burt lived in Roseburg and Astoria before settling down in SE Portland.
Prior to her retirement Alta held careers in retail sales and rental management. She married Henry “Al” Wiseman in 1986 after 50 years of friendship. Together they enjoyed the outdoors in a motor home, took many fishing trips and were members of the Milwaukie ELKS. She had a passion for baseball, fishing trips, clamming and crabbing.
Alta is survived by her son, Kenneth; grandchildren Michelle, Wendy, Kelly, Kenny and Jill; 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Julia Hood; siblings Freda and Marvin; daughter Marilyn; husbands Herbert Lehman and Henry Wiseman.
Alta was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
