Dick was born in Lewiston on July 15, 1938, the son of Kenneth and Iva Bartlett. He graduated from Deering High School and joined the National Guard as a tank commander.
In 1962, he married the love of his life Carol Ann Scheublin and together they had a son Jeffrey Bartlett who was the light of his life.
Dick worked at many occupations, primarily in banking and insurance, but it was being a police officer was one of his favorite jobs. Over the years he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling with his wife. Dick also enjoyed watching the New York Giants and listening to the Red Sox while smoking one of his favorite cigars. He always brought a smile with his quick wit and humor.
He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings Phyllis Wheeler and husband George; Jacqueline Dunlea and husband Michael and Vivian Fortin and husband Armand.
Dick is survived by his wife Carol Ann; son Jeffrey Bartlett and partner Donna Castle, brother Bruce Bartlett and his wife Nancy, grandchildren Alexa and Nolan Bartlett and their mother Christina Bartlett. He is also survived by brother-in-law Kenneth Scheublin and his wife Meta. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
