Marjorie Jeannette Donovan, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, at the age of 104. Born on March 5, 1920, in the town of Portland, she was the daughter of Harry Jenkins and Marion DeWolfe Jenkins.
Marjorie lived a full and rich life dedicated to her family. As a devoted homemaker, she spent her years raising her children, creating a loving and nurturing home, and instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work, and perseverance. She was a cherished wife to her late husband, John Donovan Jr., with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage.
Marjorie was the heart of her family, and her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a constant presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her legacy of devotion to family will live on for generations to come.
In addition to her role as a mother and grandmother, Marjorie was known for her kind spirit, generosity, and gentle nature. Her smile and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, John Donovan Jr., and is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends as a woman of strength, grace, and love.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, John.
