He was born in 2003 in Portland, ME and is the son of Lynn & Justin Loranger, and the brother of Elisabeth Loranger.
He was a 3rd year Northeastern University, Khoury College of Computer Science, student working towards a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Cognitive Psychology. He so loved Northeastern and it was the only school he applied to. During his time there he was involved with NUTV, the Mahjong Club, and many other activities. In the summer between his 2nd and 3rd year he went to London for a month to participate in an experiential learning experience in computer science.
His co-op internship was at Sappi North America, beginning in the winter of 2023 through the summer. There, he implemented automation to optimize operations; improved tracking and productivity with new workflows; and spearheaded an initiative to identify and reduce files containing sensitive information, bolstering network security and data protection.
Griffin showed early promise in the computer world when he built his first computer, early in his middle school years. He became an early one-person support desk to his family and friends. He went on to build and rebuild several computers and pursued his interest in the digital world at Northeastern.
Outside of school Griffin loved to ski, play online games, and sports with his crew of close friends from Gorham and beyond. He was a lover of history and was always with a book on some non-fictional topic. He loved campy horror and other bad movies. Griffin learned to play chess at an early age from his late uncle Richard Loranger, and was a tough person to beat.
He is survived by his immediate family, Lynn, Justin, and Elisabeth Loranger; His grandparents, Sharon & Richard Smithson; Uncle Marc and wife Patti Loranger of Auburn, CA; Uncle Robert & Deborah Loranger of Windham, ME; Uncle Francis & Nancy Loranger of Portland, ME; Cousins Patrick, Danielle, and Jason Loranger of CA; Adam Loranger of South Portland, ME; Nathan Loranger of Buxton, ME; and Jacob Loranger of Portland, ME
