Christopher S. Godin, 58 of Portland passed away under tragic circumstances on Friday, February 17, 2023. He was born July 9, 1964 in Portland to Doris M. Godin.
Chris graduated from Kennebunk High School class of 1982 before attending Nasson College in Springvale. After working in several local restaurants, he found his niche as a cook and so began his career. He bought Granny’s Burritos in 1995 which he owned and operated for 22 years before closing in 2017.
Chris was a true hippie and should have been born 10 years earlier to relish the movement. He loved music, dancing and the Grateful Dead – traveling the East coast to as many concerts as he could. During winter months, you could find him on the slopes of Sunday River and in warmer months riding his bike through the streets of Portland. He enjoyed teaching his daughter how to cook and watching his son play basketball.
Chris will be remembered for being passionate and fiercely outspoken, his always-in-a-hurry relentless energy and his true zest for life.
