Winston Conway Jackson was born in 1926 in Chipley Florida from his parents David and Elizabeth Jackson who had five children Dick, Ernest, Tom, Elizabeth and Winston nicknamed “Baby” was the youngest of his siblings. Their parents were deceased in their early childhood. At the age of 17 Winston began his service in the army during World War 2 and upon completion he received an Honorable discharge. After serving in the Military he returned to Miami where he lived and worked for 10 years and had a daughter named Margrette Kent. Winston decided to move up north to NYC in 1957 and began working for the City of N.Y. Dept. of Water and Sewage. In 1958 Winston met Shirley Hilliard and married on Valentines Day in1960 and had two daughters Wendy and Kelly. Winston retired in 1990 after working 28 yrs. and both Winston and Shirley moved to Florida to enjoy their golden years in Port St. Lucie Fla.
Winston was a very proud honorable God loving man and a faithful and loyal member of Hope Lutheran Church. He had a heart of gold and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He was also a father figure to many who knew and loved him. He was a respectable devoted family man with class dignity and integrity. He loved to dance and always had a smile and a joke for everyone. Winston was always the life of the party and always wanted to spread love and joy to all.
Winston is preceded in death by daughter Margarette. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley, daughters , Wendy and Kelly, grandchildren, Wynter Jackson, Darrin Kent and Curtis Kent, 3 great-grandchildren Shaneka Kent , Ansley Kent , and Kieran Green. 1 great great grandchild Haden Grisby. Winston is also survived by over 70 family member including 7 sisters in law, and numerous nieces and nephews. As the Patriarch of the family will truly be missed by all.
A Visitation will take place from 5-7pm on Thursday May 5, 2016 at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 SE Floresta Drive Port St. Lucie, Florida 34983. A Gathering will be held from 10-11 am with a Funeral Service at 11 am at Hope Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie on Friday May 6, 2016. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Palm City, Florida.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 1750 Lennard Rd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952.
