Roger was born in Rehobeth, Alabama on February 26, 1941. He graduated from Dothan High School and went on to attend Howard College in Birmingham, Alabama. He then met and married his loving wife, Elaine in Birmingham, Alabama.
Roger will be remembered as a strong, intelligent, funny, and loving man. He was a devout Christian and a man of Faith.
Roger was very devoted to his family and especially to his wife to which they had been married for 62 years.They were inseparable and had a special bond.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Benton, his 4 Children, 8 Grandchildren, and 15 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, J Lee and Myrtle Benton, and his Brother, Lamar Benton.
A Memorial Service will be held at Morningside Church on May 3, 2025 at 10:00 am.
