Mary Louise Larres was born in Joliet, Illinois on February 2, 1937 to Arthur and Catherine Vollmer. Mary passed away on November 17, 2024. She had two siblings, sister, Karen, a Dominican Nun, who resides in Wisconsin and one brother, William, who passed away in 2017. She attended primary school at Saint Raymond and high school at Saint Catherine, she was an aspirant in the Catholic Church 1952-1954. Following high school, she worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Company and was involved in the Catholic Church. She married Donald Anton Larres in 1959 and together they had five children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In 1967, they moved to Florida and were active members of St. Lucie Parish for many years. Although she worked as a certified nurse’s aide, as well as for a hallmark card store, Mary’s real job was being a mother and wife. She was always up early making breakfast and lunches and always had a large meal ready every evening she had the spirit of caring for others, volunteering with meals on wheels as well as caring for special needs children.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 Southeast Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. Following will be a Mass held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Lucie Catholic Church, 425 SW Irving St, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983 with a Graveside Service from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Forest Hills Memorial Park & Palm City Chapel, 2001 SW Murphy Rd, Palm City, FL 34990.
