Helen Jean Stein, 89, known by everyone as “Pinky”, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2022.
Helen was born on June 27, 1933, to Robert and Helen M. Montgomery in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Turtle Creek High School (Class of 1951) and married Charles A. Stein in July 1953, to whom she was married until his passing in August 2012.
In June of 1967, the Stein family moved from Turtle Creek to South Florida. She was first and foremost a mother, raising five children. When she did work, she was a secretary and in later years enjoyed being a waitress just to keep busy. Wherever she lived, she was actively involved in the church and with friends from the church.
She is survived by five children and their spouses: Douglas Charles and Bonnie Stein, Margaret Jeanne and Robert Bowman, Adrienne Kay and Joseph Demma, Susan Grace and Scott Bryant and Sandra Marie and Rod Dufty. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
A Memorial Service is planned for Pinky on November 5, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 295 NW Prima Vista Blvd., Port St. Lucie Florida 34983. The family asks that in lieu of flowers to send contributions to the Church for their Hope Fund, which provides services for those in need in the area.
