Charles, known by most as Chuck, was born in New York City on April 4, 1953 to Pasquale and Carmela Bellomo. He graduated from Seward Park High School in 1971 and married his lifelong companion Loraine on Feb 3, 1973. They had two beautiful children together, Michelle and Charlie, who they raised in Oradell, New Jersey until they moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 2007.
Chuck started his career at the United States Postal Service as a Mail Handler. Over 36 years of service he moved his way through the ranks and retired as a Supervisor in 2008.
Chuck was most proud of his family, especially his very talented grandsons, Charlie and Dommie. He cherished the time spent with family and friends near and far. He was well liked by all that met him. He had a big heart and always looked out for others - even more than himself. He was the life of the party and had a great presence.
Chuck loved his morning walks, catching up with the neighbors and always with his pockets full of treats for any dog he encountered. He was an avid sports fan, and you could always find him watching one of his favorite teams - Jets, Mets or Rangers. He was very proud of his collection of sports memorabilia he had acquired over the years.
Chuck loved music and played in a band when he was younger. A self-proclaimed food critic, everyone came to Chuck for restaurant recommendations. He also loved to bbq and insisted on charcoal over propane.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Loraine (nee: Kulchisky). Beloved father of Michelle Bellomo of Oradell, New Jersey and Charles Bellomo (wife Melina) of Houston, Texas. Loving and proud grandfather of Charles and Dominic. Chuck is predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Carmela Bellomo, his brother Alan Bellomo and sister Ann Marie Bellomo.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Chuck’s life, on Monday December 9 at 1 p.m. at Aycock of Traditions. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made in his honor to your favorite charity.
