Timothy (Tim) Paul Smith, age 64, of South Daytona, Florida, formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Tim is now in the presence of our Lord. Tim's story began when he was born in Knoxville. As a child, Tim's parents frequently took him camping where his love for fishing began. During his teenage years, Tim's love for fishing continued to grow. After high school he joined the Carpenters Local Union of Knoxville. Tim and his wife moved to Marietta, Georgia, in January 1983, and later he started his construction company called Acousti Interior Contractors. He was well known and respected throughout the Atlanta area for his quality of work. After many successful years, Tim and Brenda moved to Florida. Tim was an avid fisherman and spent countless hours on Douglas Lake in Sevierville, Tennessee. Tim was a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan and on game days proudly wore his Tennessee Orange. Tim was known for his kind heart and fun loving nature. He always made sure his wife Brenda and her three sisters had a good time during sister week. He served not only as a chauffeur but also tour guide. At a favorite vacation spot "Jekyll Island, GA," he could often be seen driving his "red bug" (which was actually blue) around the island, cigar in mouth, sporting his Burger King mask.
Tim was devoted to his wife Brenda. They were not only soul mates but best friends. His favorite saying to Brenda was "I don't want you to worry about anything."
The second love of Tim's life was his fur babies: Bella, Maggie, and Penny. He was the one who took the fur babies for grooming - patiently waiting for them with his infamous cigar in his mouth in the parking lot.
Preceded in death were Daughter April; Fur Baby Molly; Father William Paul (Bill) Smith; Mother Nancy Vella Smith; and Brother William Anthony (Tony) Smith.
Survivors include his Wife of 41 years, Brenda D. Smith; Sister Teena Branson (Bill); Sister-in-law Kim Smith; Nephews Jason Branson (Kristy); Jeremy Hensley; Dillon Smith (Brandi); Great Niece Taylor Branson; Great Nephew Rowan Hensley; many extended family members; and his Special Friend Brian Light.
Memorial Service will be Friday, October 18, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Norwood Baptist Church, 1725 Wilson Rd, Knoxville, Tennessee 37912, with Pastor Paul Baird officiating.
