Stephen Smith, Sr.

Stephen David Smith Sr, 62, of Sanford, FL, passed away October 10, 2024. Born in Ft. Benning, GA, to Douglas and Marvel Smith, Steve will be forever remembered for being a man who stood on principle. Steve attended college at Stetson University and UCF, graduating with a degree in Communications. A wonderful father, husband, and colleague, Steve was also the sibling of Tom Smith, Martha Gauthier, Sue Ellen Arthurs, and Brian Smith; and best friend of Gilly Aguiar.

The life of any party he attended, and an amazing person to be around. many friends and family through the years were blessed to get to know him. Extended family were just as important as family to Steve. Steve's legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, and the people whose lives he touched, and had a direct impact on: son Stephen D. (Heather) Smith Jr., daughter Ashley (Kyle) Smith, stepdaughter Cassandra Bostick, stepdaughter Yasmin Mello; grandchildren: Anabel, Carter, and Kendal; wife Cynthia Smith; and brothers-in-law, Robert Rosario and Juan Ramos. Steve was predeceased by his parents and brother, Michael Smith.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held from 1 pm-4 pm on Saturday, 11/09/2024 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home – Port Orange, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange FL.
