Joe Robert Brewer

He was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on October 10, 1940.

He was married to the love of his life, June Hood Brewer, for 57 years.

Joe Bob graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School and was a Firefighter for the City of Tuscaloosa for 29 years.

He served as a deacon at Indian Lake and Mt. Olive Baptist Churches in Tuscaloosa. He was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa County and in 2017, decided to retire to Port Orange, Florida. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved nothing more than to be with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Willis Scott and Gertrude Brewer. He is survived by his wife, June, 3 children, Kim (Ray) Goins, Scott (Paige) Brewer and Steven (Holly) Brewer. He leaves behind 7 Grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild - Kyler Goins, Shane Brewer, Kaitlin (Joel) Jarvis, Hannah McMurphy, Cameron Brewer, Mackenzie Brewer, Anna Lois McMurphy and Josie Jarvis. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Jack (Josephine) Brewer and Frank (Jackie) Brewer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Volusia Memorial funeral home in Port Orange, Florida. Visitation will be from 9:00am - 10:00am with the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Burial will be completed at Cape Canaveral Veteran’s Cemetery at 12:30pm. Pallbearers will be Kyler Goins, Shane Brewer, Cameron Brewer, Beau Nelson, Joel Jarvis and Glen Nelson. Honorary Pallbearers are: Tuscaloosa Fire/Rescue and Members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
