Eleanor L. Del Pozo, 60 of Daytona Beach, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Halifax Health Medical Center. Eleanor was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and was the daughter of the late Anna (Damp) and Harold Davis. She had a varied career in law enforcement to include serving 9 years on the Pittsburgh Police Department and as an officer with the Daytona Beach Police Department. Her family will always remember her adventurous nature, her caring personality and love for family and friends. She was a loving wife and mother and a cherished friend. Eleanor’s love for horses led her to recently completed Equine Massage Therapy Certification. She was also an active member of The Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Church where she was a lector and Eucharist Minister. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 27 years, Rene; son, Alexander (Alex) and brother, James E. Davis of Ohio. Beside her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Harold Davis. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 p.m. and Monday 6-8 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Basilica of St. Paul 317 Mullally St. Daytona Beach. The family requests in lieu of Flowers donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge 132 W. 32nd St. N.Y., N.Y. 10001.
