Donald “Buddy” Spivey - 8/15/1944-10/30/2016 With a heavy heart I must announce the passing of my beloved husband and best friend, Buddy Spivey. He was born August 15, 1944 in Sanford to Daisy and Cannie Spivey, living his entire life in Florida. He was the youngest of 3 children and the only son. An easy going man whose need and wants were simple and unassuming. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Int. Assoc. Local # 15 for over 40 years. He worked locally at Daytona Sheet Metal Works, at the Cape, in Georgia and South Florida. He was an avid fan of his much loved “Noles” rarely missing a game. He was also a NASCAR fan especially in the Petty and Earnhardt eras. Many thanks to Dr. Christopher Alexander and his Port Orange staff for their unending effort to treat and give Buddy quality of life. Thank you. He is survived by his wife Janet, his son Darryl and his wife Zim of West Covina, CA; sisters, Joyce Rogers of Heber Springs, AK and Geri Cook of Port Orange, FL; stepchildren, Paula Szarmach, Shelton, CT, Carla Feagle Holly Hill, FL, Joseph Flud, Windermere, FL and Ed Flud, Ormond Beach, FL. Services will be held graveside at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach, FL at 11:00 a.m. , November 8, 2016. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Buddy’s name to Volusia /Flagler Hospice Care Center, Port Orange, FL where along with his family 2 wonderful nurses watched over him making him comfortable until his Lord carried him home.
