Charles L. “Charlie” Beal, 80, who recently moved to the South Daytona area from North Carolina, passed away August 1, 2021. Born in Fitzgerald, GA to Johnnie P. and Inez Beal, he was one of four children. Growing up, Charlie had a love for construction – the heavier the equipment, the better, retiring as a heavy construction equipment operator in the early 2000’s. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and pontooning.
He is survived by his step daughters, Brenda (Lamar) Singletary, Linda (Dan) Zukowski and their families; brother, Wayne (Linda) Beal; brother-in-law, Rogers Willis; uncle, Ralph (Pauline) Shedd; and multiple nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Polly, two sisters Linda Willis and Mildred Richardson, and a step son Kenneth Kelly.
A gentle giant, he was loved and respected by all. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
