Donald F. McGrew, 79, of Port Lavaca passed away June 9, 2013. He was born March 23, 1934 in Cadiz, Ohio to the late Wilber and Mildred McGrew. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-1955 and then in the reserves from 1955-1964.
He is survived by his wife, Marian (Betsy) McGrew; sons, Donny McGrew and wife, Terry, Danny McGrew and wife, Laura, Michael McGrew and wife, Sherron, Keith McGrew and wife, Jenny and Steven McGrew and wife, Sherry; sister, Margot Graening from Akron, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with Nathan Smalley officiating. Interment will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Justin, Jared, Bryan, Brighton, Kristopher, Matthew and Morgun McGrew and Caleb Wehmeyer.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 322 8th Ave, 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.
