Thomas Frank Prach, born July 31, 1931 in Jackson Heights, NY, passed away on January 30, 2020 at the age of 88. Tom was a chemist at Brookhaven National Laboratory for 40 years. He was a Boy Scout leader and enjoyed playing sports at BNL, the Village of Port Jefferson and the Town of Brookhaven. Tom was a member of Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance, and was part of the original Park Commission in Port Jefferson. He and his wife were long time members of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas F. and Rose (Poklop) Prach, his sister Evelyn Prach McNamara and his grandson Alexander Cruz. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Naomi Martha Prach; daughters Debbie (Bill) Weresnick, Laurel (Greg) Weresnick and Linda (Nome) Cruz; grandchildren Erin Weresnick, Santiago Cruz, Shelley Weresnick, Kelly Weresnick, Colleen Weresnick and his sister Doris Prach Zalis. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial Prayer Service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson, Box 397, Main and 107 South Street, Port Jefferson, NY 11777.
