Ruth E Teuchtler

Ruth Elizabeth Teuchtler, born July 29, 1943, in Johnson City, New York, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2024. A graduate of Johnson City High School, she pursued higher education at Syracuse University and earned a master’s degree from Rutgers University. Ruth was a devoted mother and a pillar of strength for her family.

She is survived by her five children: Gigi Tuthill of Naples, Florida; Gregory Cohen of Breckenridge, Colorado; Stephen Cohen of Vestal, New York; Theresa Kaufman of Olney, Maryland; and Andrew Cohen of Las Vegas, Nevada. Ruth also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren: Olivia Kaufman, Jack Kaufman, Oliver Cohen, and Charlie Cohen, and her 2 labrador retrievers, Thor and Lizzie.

Ruth was very active in the First Congregational Church in Binghamton, New York, where she was cherished by its members for her kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith. A lover of Labrador Retrievers, gardening, and storytelling, she filled her life and home with beauty, loyalty, and shared memories. Ruth had a strong, determined spirit and always expected the best from those she loved, leading her family with love and high standards.

A service to honor Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Binghamton, New York. Flowers may be sent to the church on the day of the funeral service.
