Richard T. Wilson Sr. Sr.

Richard T. “Dick” Wilson, Sr, born August 21, 1942, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, August 8th, 2024. Husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; Richard is finally at peace after all he faced living with dementia. He was predeceased by his parents Claude and Ethel Wilson, and his brothers Claude Jr. and Wesley Wilson, and his loving dog, Texas.

Richard is survived by his lifelong sweetheart and wife for 59 years, Gail M. Wilson. He is also survived by his children, Richard Terry Wilson Jr (Atlanta, GA), Debra Wilson (Vestal, NY) and Scott Wilson and Michelle Porterfield Wilson (Binghamton, NY). He will be remembered by his grandchildren Carter, Calvin, Nolan and Adelie, his sister Phyllis Harris, and many dear and loving friends.

Richard was most at home in the woods, hunting with friends, his sons and grandsons, or on the water, sailing one of the boats he restored. He’ll be remembered for his stories, his loving blue eyes and his passion for cutting the lawn.

The family will honor Richard’s life in a private celebration at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Richard, kindly consider donations in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central New York.
