Maureen passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family. She has been reunited with her late husband, and best friend Ronald Skrebes, and they will now be together for eternity. She was also predeceased by her parents James and Claire McMahon. She is survived by her loving daughters Sheila (Chris) View, Kerry Ann (Keith) Hamel, Erica (Dennis) Clark and her precious grandchildren Calista, Melena, Caden, Nora and step-grandson Rowan. Also surviving are her brother James McMahon and sister Betsy Pulliam and their families.
During her career, Maureen enjoyed teaching and mentoring students in the Nursing program at BOCES for many years. Being a teacher brought her great joy. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, and playing Mahjong with her friends. The time spent with family whether at the beach, the lake, camping or those historic Thanksgiving dinners were the most special moments to her.
She wished to extend her gratitude to family and friends who were always there through good times and bad.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Wilson Hospital North Tower 2 nurses and staff for the compassion and care provided over the past several weeks as well as Mercy House for the comfort and peace in her final hours.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11 am at St. James Church 147 Main St. Johnson City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am at the Church.
