John J. McKernan Jr., 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 6th, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, John Sr. and Mary (Roache) McKernan, and 1 brother, Vincent McKernan. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan McKernan, 2 daughters, Lisa and Sarah K. McKernan, 2 sons John (Lillian) McKernan, and Andrew (Sarah J.) McKernan, and 3 grandchildren, Briana, Joshua and Daniel McKernan, 1 Sister, Hannah (Terry) Reagan, 1 aunt, Arlene Tusar, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was also retired from Frito Lay where he worked for 28 years. While retired, he enjoyed driving school buses. He was also an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed sports, gardening, carpentry, and mechanical work with cars. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday February 10th from 4-7pm at Chase Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday February 11th at 10:00a.m. at St. Cyril's Church, 148 Clinton Street, Binghamton.
