Dale. W. Smith died Thursday, December 9, 2021 at age 88. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 67 years, Carolyn; his children, Deb Dooley, Jeff (Kathy) Smith, and Tim (Linda) Smith; grandchildren, Sarah (Karlos) Sotelo, Megan (Mike) Schilling, Ryan (Caitlyn) Smith, Kathryn (John) Entner, Jason Smith, Joel (Cassie) Smith, Patrick (Maida) Dooley, and Cody (Arielle) Smith; 8 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Nancy Killion; niece, Sarah Hope Killion; and many cousins.
Better known as Papa to his grandchildren, Dale was a talented woodworker and made many toys for his grandkids. He was an avid runner and completed many marathons. He retired after a long career with IBM in Endicott.
His family would like to thank the Lourdes Hospice staff, especially Dawn, for the wonderful care Dale received. Funeral Services will be private.
