Beryl Champlin Schumacher, aged 92, of Binghamton, NY, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024. Born on April 22, 1932, in Newton, PA. Beryl was loved by everyone and was a precious soul with a great sense of humor.
Beryl graduated from Falls - Overfield High School in Mill City, PA, and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Mansfield State Teachers College.
Beryl was a cherished member of the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, played in the bell choir, and was a regular at Bible study sessions. She was also a member of Church Women United. Her faith and the joy she found in music were central to her life.
Beryl was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Edwin C. Schumacher; her parents, Norman and Mable Champlin; her brother, Howard Champlin; and her sister, Rena Dickinson. She is survived by her loving family: Cathy and Bob Smythe, Bill and Pam Schumacher, Ken and Lauren Schumacher, Tim Schumacher, and Jimmy Schumacher. She was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Beryl will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the melodious impact she had on her community and family.
The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4-6pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1061 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10AM. Burial will follow at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY
