Merillee Anne Hunter January 22, 1943 – November 7, 2023. Merillee passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 7, 2023. She was born on January 22, 1943 in Vancouver and spent many years working at Vancouver Stock Exchange and Safeway.
Merillee was a devoted wife to Jim of 51 years and dedicated her life to raising her two children, Darren and Russ (who she loved greater than they ever imagined possible). Merillee believed in community and if she didn’t have a pot of coffee on for guests, she would be coaching her bowling teams. Merillee was an avid gardener and loved to bake and cook. She was always testing out new recipes and calling family & friends over on Sunday’s to be her “guinea pigs”.

Merillee was devoted to her family and predeceased by Jim Hunter, the love of her life. She is survived by her children, Darren (Karen) Russ (Darlene); grandchildren (Devan, Lauren, Jack, Joshua & Rachel).
Please join us in celebrating her amazing life on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 1pm at the First Memorial Burkeview Chapel, 1340 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC.
In Loving Memory
Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt, and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all, and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you. Author - Joey Beighley
