It is with profound sadness but a deep sense of relief that we share our moms passing.
The past 5 years and the more recent five months have been incredibly challenging as our mom suffered through the advanced stages of dementia.
We take solace in that she passed as peacefully as possible and ahead of having to deal with the terminal cancer or the final stages of dementia.
We want to think that she is now in a place with an unlimited supply of shoes, books, sewing and knitting supplies, a place for her to get the immaculately coordinated outfits that she was known for and of course – my dad.
That would be heaven for my mom.
She could singlehandedly whip a house in order and prepare a four-course turkey dinner for 20 people.
She loved gardening, or so we thought - she actually didn’t – she loved my dad who loved gardening.
She was a cheerleader – both in university and for everyone she loved.
She was a loving mom and a Marnie (a rare title that only a few amazing women have held) to six grand kids.
She was a 5’3” powerhouse full of love for her family and friends.
She was much loved.
She will be dearly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialportcoquitlam.com for the Nash family.
