We are sad to announce that Bryan Kolins passed away peacefully, with his family by his side. He was very brave and courageous and went on his own terms. Bryan is survived by his wife Carol (36 yrs), sons Jason, Michael (Shantel) daughter-in-law Kassie and daughter Lisa. Grandchildren Morgan, Toby, Eden and Nick. Brother Gary (Rene), sisters Vanetta Stertz and Joy, father-in-law Bob Guthrie, sister-in-law
Elaine Green (Bob), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by former spouse Vicki Kolins, daughter-in-law Brandi Rylander, brothers Lowell Kolins and Beverly John Kolins, nephews Bryan R Kolins and Kevin Kolins.
Bryan was born in Vancouver to Vince and Grace Kolins. In 1953 the family moved to Surrey. Bryan worked 45 years in the Poultry industry. First at Panco in Surrey, It closed in 1982 and Bryan then worked for Lilydale in Poco. In 2010, Bryan became ill and was diagnosed with "Sweet's Syndrome" which changed his life forever. The last 14 years, Bryan was in and out of hospital many times, with different complications from Sweet's and in the end, he developed bone marrow cancer aka MDS and there was no cure.
Bryan was passionate about baseball. At age 8, he played in the Whalley Little League, where he made the AllStar team. He was enormously proud of this. He played fastball up until 1989, then started playing SloPitch. Blue Jays and LA Dodgers were his favorite teams. He also loved hockey, Montreal Canadians and Vancouver Canucks was who he cheered for.
Bryan was a very funny guy; he had a joke for every situation. He had a great sense of humor, kept a positive attitude despite the obstacles placed in his path. He was a brave and loving person. Until we meet again R.I.P.
