Anthony John Hetzel

Beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly in Abbotsford on January 18, 2024. He is survived by his wife Ashley (Nee: Howard) and son Fox, his parents, Kathy and Robert Hetzel, and his brother Dustin Hetzel (fiancée Naomi Miller), along with his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Anthony was born in New Westminster in 1992. He graduated with honors from Terry Fox Senior Secondary School in Port Coquitlam in 2010, then went on to become an electrician after studying at BCIT. Over the course of his career, Anthony worked for Polar Electric and, most recently, Western Technical/Mott Electric.

Anthony met his soulmate, Ashley, in high school and they started dating just after graduation. They were married in 2014 and, in 2022, Anthony and Ashley were delighted to welcome their beautiful son Fox into the family.

A devoted husband and father, Anthony was a kind and sensitive man who would go to the ends of the earth to care for his family and loved ones. He took immense joy in being a father, whether it was playing at the park, having dance parties in the kitchen, or setting up a play tent, complete with lighting, on Christmas Eve.

A gamer from the time he was very young, Anthony enjoyed epic Pathfinder campaigns with his tight-knit circle of friends. He loved music and was always adding to his vinyl collection and recommending newly discovered artists to his friends and family. A life-long Canucks fan, Anthony was excited to cheer on his team along with Fox, both dressed in their Pettersson jerseys.
