Robert A. Gonyer, Sr., 82, of Venice, FL passed away September 14, 2015. He was born December 24, 1932 in Manchester, New Hampshire. A Navy veteran originally from Manchester, New Hampshire, Bob was a long time Venice resident known for his cheerful personality and sense of humor, but will mostly be remembered for his fervent love of dogs especially his own dear Athena and Dakotah.
Bob was married to the love of his life and best friend, Frances, for 30 years and will always be with her in spirit. He was father to Glenn, John, Robert Jr. and Debra Gonyer-Lindahl. He was stepfather to Scott, Stacie and Sally Stewart. He is also survived by his two sisters Connie Caron and Jocelyn Gonyer as well as many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 6 PM at the Kay-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to "Donte's Den" for dogs located in Myakka City, Florida.
