It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Antalek, Jr.
Rick passed away on October 20, 2024 in Florida at Hospice after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born October 18th 1958 in Schenectady NY to parents Richard Sr. and Janet Antalek. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Lori Antalek. (Swint). His love for her was unwavering. He was her "hero". They built a life in Latham, NY with their goal to retire in sunny Florida where he befriended many wonderful people who became lifelong friends. Rick loved the warm weather in Florida, watching football, cooking and making wine with his beloved friend Vinny.
Rick and Lori enjoyed their camp in Sacandaga Lake (NY) for many years with family and friends. In Rick's younger years he also enjoyed weekend activities with his family. He cherished the many memories he had of his childhood and with his children growing up.
Rick worked for National Grid for 39 years before retiring . He was a member of the Elks Club in Fla where he enjoyed time with friends and having dinner.
Rick is survived by his parents Richard and Janet Antalek ,his devoted wife Lori Antalek (Swint), his sister Debra (Jeffrey) Rainville, his 3 sons, Shawn (Jess) Antalek, Scott (Alysha) Antalek and Daniel (Melissa) Antalek. Rick is also survived by eight grandchildren, several niece's and nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He was a very special brother in law to Tracey Van Alstyne Bowers and Terry Swint Tedesco. He will be missed beyond measure.
To respect Rick's wishes, there will be private services. There will be a celebration of life for the immediate family where he chose to be his final resting place.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Rick's name.
