Norman-Pop- was born and raised in Mine Hill, New Jersey and moved to Port Charlotte,FL in 1983. He was predeceased by his parents,William Robert and Elsie Nixon, his wife Theresa, a daughter Kathleen, a son Billy, two brothers George and Billy and a sister Eloise (Elio).
Norman was a very proud American and served in the United States Navy WWII and was at Pearl Harbor.
He had enlisted at the age of 17 and served two tours of duty.He was retired from being employed as a welder and a long distance truck driver.
He was very active and outgoing. He loved baseball and coached and managed numerous Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball teams. He also joined and played in the Charlotte County 50+, and 60+
softball teams in Charlotte County.
He was an active member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was also predeceased by his childhood sweetheart and wife Theresa. They were both heavily involved in Marriage Encounter. We are at peace to know they are reunited. Together they had three children.

He is survived by this son Gary Nixon (Norma); 5 grandchildren, Lisa Hann Coviello (Gerry), Gary W. Nixon (Lisa), Kimberly Nixon Gelin (Raphael), Jacqueline Hann, William Hann II; 12 Great grandchildren and 8 Great Great grandchildren and a large, loving extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
