Michael longo was my grandfather, I loved when Nonni and him would send me cards hoping I was doing well. It always came with a 2 dollar bill and I've been saving them every since. I'll always remember the moments we had going out to dinner, he really was a great man to be around.

He had a personality that was larger than life, and whenever we saw him he was always laughing and always had a great story to tell. He loved his family and his country loudly and proudly and we will always love and miss him

I first met Mike before he was my brother in law. Initially, it seemed as though we didn’t have much in common.
Through the years it became clear that we had many more similarities than differences-
Several weeks before he left us he told me that he considered me his biological brother.
For me, Mike had already become The brother I never had.

So proud that Mike and Sharon were there for me and became family.  Mike was a ride or die Bears fan; in Mike's day it was ok to hit the QB, because they weren't pansies :)  He's patriotic, you better not kneel when the American flag is flying.  Handyman, Portillo's lover, family first, and always willing to share his ABC gear.  But if I know one thing about Mike, he felt lucky to have Sharon and loved his wifey more than anything else.

My bestie called him pops, but he was like a brother to me.  Genuinely caring and would give you the shirt off his back.  Italian chef who loved his mom and her recipes.  Cubs fan, brother, good advice giver, story teller, Christian, early bird.  Grill master, sarcastic and funny.  He didn't drink much but still thought my water beer was lame ;)  Took pride in his job, coffee drinker, hugger.

Everyone who met him knows what kind of man Mike Longo was. He was wildly funny with an irreverent and witty sense of humor. He was kind, intelligent, brave, strong and genuine. He loved his family, God, and was very proud of his career at ABC Supply. He was a masterful chef and discerning foodie. He enjoyed a spirited political debate, and he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. 
Everyone who met him knows what kind of man Mike Longo was, but not many people know what kind of dad and grandfather he was.  My Pops was an incredible dad, and he didn’t have to be. I wasn’t his child by blood but he chose to be my dad pretty much as soon as he started dating my mother, and he was great at it. He was the kind of dad who would tell you how proud he was of you.  He was the kind of dad who would tell you if you were wrong, and he was the kind of dad that would tell you if he was wrong, too. He was the kind of dad that wouldn’t just let you build a tiny house on his property. He would tell you that he believed you could do it, and he’d help you build it with his own two hands as well. He was the kind of dad that would never have given his blessing to marry his daughter if he thought you weren’t worthy of her. He was the kind of dad whose feelings were initially hurt because I didn’t ask him to give me away at my wedding, and I hadn’t asked him because I never pictured anything different.  He was the kind of dad who paid attention to me, so much so that he knew I was pregnant before I did.  
He was the kind of Papa who beamed with pride and joy the very first time he got to hold his grandchildren and every time since. He was the kind of Papa that gave his grandkids the fun, noisy kind of gifts that drive the adults crazy, and he was the kind of Papa that would say “of course you can have a cupcake for breakfast.” He was great at many things, but he was an exceptional dad and Papa.

Michael I will always and forever cherish all the beautiful memories of friendship we had shared over the years. Your heart was bigger than gold!! I remember all the laughter, talks, Tampa trip with my mom and family and most of all your big bear hugs. Mike was always so happy. He was one of the most caring people I’ve ever known. Always called or text me on my birthday. Always gave me a  hello and goodbye hug when I’d see him. I’ll miss him tremendously.  Just such a dear friend. Love you Mikey ❤️

I remember making Mikes birthday cake. Sharon asked me if I could make a chocolate Chicago Bears cake. I said oh my gosh of course I can! I was excited to do it. Of course it hadn’t occurred to me that it had been a few years since I stopped doing cakes professionally. But I had lots of unfounded confidence, for what that’s worth. 
Sharon had explained to me what Mike would want and I thought great no problem, so I got started. I baked the cake and started to make the frosting. I had the frosting decoration colors all ready to go. Things were fine like always. And that’s where “fine” ended! Lol Sharon doesn’t know this story I never told her. The top layer broke into pieces when I took it out of the pan. To my horror. I had to get dressed and go back to the store to start again. But that was after trying to piece it together with frosting, only to have it totally fall apart. So yes, I had to start the frosting over again also. Long story short I got to bed at 5:30am on a work night and acted like everything was fine. The cake came out great in the end. That’s what’s important.  Life is good Sharon. I am so sorry for your  great loss. But you are among the very few who found real love in your life. Some never do.❤️

The love of my life went Home to be with Jesus on Sunday October 22nd at 8:58am. 💔His illnesses and pain are gone and he is with Our Lord. ✝️ But the pain of him not being with us will live on....
Mike loved many things unconditionally~~ God, his family, & his friends were first and foremost.  He loved his sales career at ABC Supply Co and most recently his new position as a branch manager.  He felt so blessed to work for such a wonderful company & loved EVERYONE there. They were his "other family".  I frequently told people that he loved ABC as much as he loved me lol.  
There are NOT enough words to describe Mike, but I will certainly try.... 
He was funny, intelligent, witty, handsome, optimistic, loving, kind, strong, stubborn ;), loyal, generous, dedicated, hard working,  and happy.  He loved to read, talk politics & news, travel, sing, cook, work, swim and watch sports.  Especially his Cubbies,  DA BEARS and the Blackhawks !😁
He was a wonderful husband, father, 'Papa',  son, brother, friend, uncle, employee & Boss.
He was loved by so many people and will be missed by all who knew him. 
I love and miss you, Hun❤️Life will not be the same without you. 😥

Mike was preceeded in death by his father, Joseph Longo.
He is survived by his loving family:  Spouse, Sharon (Rowe) Longo.  Mother, Jennie Longo.  Sister & brother-in-law, Gina & Luke Dandurand. Sister, Terese Longo.  Brother-in-law, Russell Rowe.  Father & Mother-in-law Lynn & Peti Maxey.  Also many cousins, nephews & nieces. 
Children-- Sheilah(Jason) Bradley, Jason(Mandy) Wollwert, & Jessica Cheesebro.   Grandchildren-- Trent, Jackson, Violet, Lucas, Jason, Artemis and Shane Jr. 
We all planned on having you with us for many many more years.  But God has a different plan for you that we don't now, & may never understand.   Sending love up to Heaven from us all...
