Gary William Queior, a cherished family man, esteemed colleague, and passionate NASCAR enthusiast, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on July 7, 1948, in Westfield, Massachusetts, Gary's warmth and friendliness touched the lives of all who knew him throughout his 76 years.
After graduating from high school, Gary embarked on a career that would define much of his professional life. He dedicated 32 years to the Punta Gorda Airport as a supervisor of airport operations. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his dedication to his colleagues and the countless friendships he cultivated during his tenure. Gary's influence extended beyond his professional role, as he was actively involved in various associations related to his field, where his guidance and expertise were highly valued.
Gary's zest for life was evident in his personal interests and hobbies. A huge fan of Dale Earnhardt, he found joy and excitement in the world of NASCAR, a passion that often brought him closer to friends and family as they shared in the thrill of the race. His love for travel took him to many places, but he held a special fondness for the vibrant energy of Las Vegas, a city that matched his own spirit of adventure.
Family was the cornerstone of Gary's life. He reveled in the time spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, with whom he shared not only his stories but also his kind and generous heart. His appreciation for 1960's music often served as the backdrop to the memorable moments he created with his family.
Gary is survived by his son, Matthew (Hollie), his daughter-in-law, Joellyn Queior; daughter, Linda Kitchel; grandchildren, Sarah, Crystal and Lexie Queior; and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jiya. He also leaves behind,three surviving siblings; Darline Wilkie, brother Marty Queior and favorite cousin and lifelong friend, Bonnie LePoer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Adams Queior; son, Thomas and two beloved dogs, Princess and Sammie.
Those who knew Gary will remember him as the embodiment of friendliness, a man whose presence could light up a room and whose laughter was both infectious and comforting. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds he formed with everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Gary William Queior will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars he so loved to gaze upon.
