On Thursday, April 11, 2013, Betty Lou Stafford of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away
peacefully, she was 86. Betty was born on June 11, 1926 in Davenport, Iowa. She was
married to her late devoted and loving husband, Dr. Norman Stafford who preceded her
on May 8, 1991. She was a devoted follower of the Lord as a member of the Lutheran
Church of the Cross, there she was a member of the Ladies Parish Guild, Alter Guild
and Choir member. She participated as a volunteer at the Cultural Center and Gift Shop
for 17 years, she also modeled at the Mall for Layne Bryant and today's woman, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Port Charlotte for 25 years.
Betty had 3 sons, Michael Alan Stafford (deceased), she is survived by her sons, S. Joel
Stafford and wife, Mimi of Havelock, NC; Keith D. Stafford and his wife, Donna of Fort
Worth, Texas; granddaughters, Jamie Sue Stafford-Burke and Husband William of
Wilmington. NC, Jennifer Elice Stafford and mother Jill Stafford of Clermont, Florida, Jessica LeAnn Forsyth and Tabitha Lynn Younger, both of Dallas, Texas; 2 great-granddaughters, Haylee Ray Ann Younger and Kloe Harper Blackledge and one great-grandson, Zachery William Stafford Burke.
Visitation Tuesday. April 16, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida
Funeral services Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. at the Lutheran Church of the Cross 2300 Luther Road. Port Charlotte, Florida. Following Church services, Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 2:00 P.M.
