Pamela was born on July 21, 1960, to Jack and Virginia Hyde. She was a self-employed caretaker and a member of the Park Central Church of Christ in Port Arthur. Pamela was a sweet and caring person who loved taking care of people, especially her family, and her wonderful grandchildren. Spending time with her three precious grandchildren filled her life with pure joy and happiness.
Pam attended elementary school in Groves and graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School. She lived most of her life in Groves but enjoyed visiting her sister Cindy in Georgetown and her brother David in Arizona. Pam was often the life of the party at family gatherings and she particularly enjoyed being with her many young nieces and nephews. They kept her young at heart.
Pam was a devoted daughter to both of her parents. She was a daily presence in the life of her mother until her death in 2011. Pam then became a constant companion to her father until his death in 2018. She brought much joy and peace to both of their lives. She truly fulfilled the commandment “honor thy father and thy mother”. Pam was a devoted church goer, another activity that she shared with her father, frequently taking him to church with her. She was loved by all her fellow church members and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She always had a good word to say about everyone.
She will be missed by all.
Her survivors include her daughter, Amber Gary and her husband Chris and their children, Avery, Tinley and Jaxon; sister, Cindy Hyde of Georgetown; brothers, Jerry Hyde of Houston, Ronald Hyde and his wife Lucia of Van Vleck, Texas, David Hyde of Phoenix, Arizona and Randy Hyde of Detroit, Michigan. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Virginia Hyde, and brother Phillip Hyde.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Park Central Church of Christ in Port Arthur. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Park Central Church of Christ with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur.
