Mr. Bergeron was a lifelong resident of the Golden Triangle. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and from Southern Methodist University. He retired from Allied Signal after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bergeron enjoyed his life on Cow Bayou until he lost his home to Ike. He also enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with his friends at the Bridge City Senior Center and Silver Sneakers.
Mr. Bergeron is survived by his daughter, Nancy Bergeron Tees and her husband Alistair and by three granddaughters, Samantha, Melissa, and Katherine Tees, and many supportive friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Gene Fears Bergeron, parents, Abe and Cecil Hunter Bergeron, his brother John.
A graveside service officiated by Reverend Brad Morgan will take place Saturday, September 4, 2010,at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur.
Special thanks to the staff of The Meadows, Odyssey Hospice, all of his visiting friends, especially Thelma Lusignan and Rhonda Strohm.
