Glen was born on February 15, 1933 in Pearl, Texas to Opal (Lucille) & Henry A. Harper. He was a lifelong area resident and retired from Gulf Oil after 34 years. He served as an MP in the army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sadie DeRouen Harper and sister, Betty Harper Felton of Amarillo.
Glen is survived by his four sons, Keith Harper of Port Arthur, Texas, Kevin Harper and wife Sheri of Silsbee, Texas, Kirk Harper and wife Beth of Groves, Texas and Kyle Harper of Port Arthur, Texas; nine grandchildren, Daniel Burnaman, Derek Harper, Shannon Harper, Bailey Harper, Shelby Harper, Sean Harper, Emily Harper, Jessica Harper, Macie Harper and great grandson, Kysen Bass.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010, from 5 p.m., until 8 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
