Dorothy Marie Schubert

Dorothy was a sweet and gentle soul with a great sense of humor and liked to tease and play jokes on everyone. She was an excellent speller, great with crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing scrabble. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking cobbler and loved her grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ernest Briscoe and Maude Elva Walker Briscoe; husbands, William Coleman and Robert Schubert; brother, Charles Briscoe and sisters, Mabel Guttersohn, Inez Cobb, Calista Opal Stovall and Bernice Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Jesse Coleman and wife Sunoki, Harold Coleman and wife Margo, Ronald Coleman and wife Renee, James Coleman and wife Ann; daughters, Cheri Obernuefemann and husband Steve, Evelyn Frieking and husband Dennis; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Church, 10169 Memorial Blvd; Port Arthur, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Faith Tabernacle Church in Port Arthur, TX. Interment will be held Friday, April 11, 2014 at Mascoutah City Cemetery in Mascoutah, IL.
